Florida Ready to Work is a workforce education and development tool.  It brings employers, student/jobseekers and education/workforce partners together in building a skilled workforce, keeping and attracting businesses with high-wage jobs to Florida, and growing Florida’s economy.

In study after study, employers point to a lack of skilled workers as their biggest challenge. 

By 2020, more than 90 percent of all jobs will require skill levels beyond those learned in high school.  As a result, almost all workers will need training and education beyond high school. 

In the United States today, most training is on the job.  So what employers need from education are employees who have strong foundation job skills and who are trainable.

Florida Ready to Work helps educators and workforce development partners:

  • Better prepare today’s student/jobseekers for work
  • Identify gaps between student/jobseeker skills and employer needs
  • Provide free, online training to help close the skill gaps
  • Counsel student/jobseekers about available careers and set realistic career goals
